Some of our friends and champions make an argument that Hal is the best localized screen reader in an effort to convince other interested individuals and organizations who are evaluating screen readers. I thought I do this podcast to help them explain why Hal is the best.

Nattiq Technologies revealed today that it signed a contract with the Visual Impairment Association of Buraidah in Saudi Arabia to supply 108 blind Saudi citizens with Hal screen reader software. Hal enables blind users to access computers independently without any help from sighted individuals.
Sharjah, UAE, 11 May 2008: Nattiq Technologies announced today the winning of a contract in Kuwait to supply Hal screen readers, HP lap tops, HP scanners, Arabic OCR and Microsoft bundled software. The equipment and programs are to be distributed among 152 blind students and teachers of the Ministry of Education. The contract was secured by Nattiq’s dealer in Kuwait Gezlan Group.

Scripting for Hal and Supernova is scheduled on March 12th at CSUN 2008. Interested show-goers will have the opportunity to see a technical demonstration on creating Hal / Supernova scripts.
Nattiq Technologies hopes to hold end-user training sessions on creating Hal's scripts later in the year in various locations in the Middle East.
The Red Crescent of the UAE offered Nokia mobile phones equipped with Talks software to 90 blind users in the UAE with coordination with the Emirates Society for the Rehabilitation of the Blind. The 90 beneficiaries are members of ESRB. They were surprised with the valuable gifts which was delivered to them by His Highness Sheikh Sager AlQasimi.
The move reflects increased awareness on how technology is narrowing the gap for Blind Students in the Kingdom of Bahrain
Nattiq's Champion Mr. Nooh Alhadidi in Riyadh - Saudi Arabia will continue demonstrating the Braille Wave Braille display / noteTaker for all who are interested in such demonstrations.
Nattiq's Champion in Riyadh, Mr. Nooh Alhadidi, received a large selection of talking and Braille tools and devices for demonstration purposes. Among the tools are devices such as talking clocks, alarm clocks, key chain clocks, temperature announcers, Braille watches, Braille wave and many other devices. Other devices which were received earlier by Mr.
Nattiq's offices will remain closed on Thursday, January 10th, in observance of the new Hijri year. We will be back to serving you on Saturday, Janurary 12th.
